The Wifi is too slow.

The shipping costs too much and can’t get it here quick enough.

The traffic isn’t moving fast enough.

The microwave can’t spin our food quick enough.

We live in an anti-waiting culture.

But what if I told you waiting is good?

“From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him.”

Isaiah 64:4 (ESV)

Waiting is good because when we wait, God acts. He wants us in waiting because we hear Him louder, respond quicker, and rely on Him more. Since waiting is a good thing, it needs to be a strategic thing. It won’t just happen in our anti-waiting culture. Learn the art of saying no, slowing down, scheduling strategically, and listening often for God’s voice.

But wait! There’s more good news. We’re not the only ones in waiting…

“Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you…”

Isaiah 30:18 (ESV)

As you wait on God, He is waiting on you. He’s waiting longingly to display His mercy and grace on your life. That sounds like it would be worth the wait, what do you think?
