There are not many things in life that are consistent.

The sun rises and sets.

Seasons come and go.

Hours and minutes pass by.

Those are all consistent, but many other things are inconsistent: relationships, jobs, money, people’s promises, even our own desires change as we age (6-year old Kevin would be shocked that 34-year old Kevin likes eating quiche and asparagus!).

In a world of inconsistency, God’s love for us is refreshingly consistent.

1 John 4, John reminds us of this truth when he writes, “God is love” (1 John 4:8). What a refreshing truth. Not only does God know a lot about love, and not only is He perfect at demonstrating love, but according to John, when you look up the definition of love in the dictionary, there should be a picture of God (someone should talk to Webster about that update.).

No sin, struggle, addiction, doubt, or failure will make God love you less. Those things may cause God to have to demonstrate His love for you differently, but they don’t change His love. It remains consistent.

There is nothing you could ever do that will make Him love you less.

Let God’s unchanging love change you and the way you love others!
