If your birth was anything like mine, it was nothing like’s Samson’s was in the book of Judges. His birth was foretold by an angel who appeared to Samson’s parents. Although angels may not have foretold your birth, you need to know that God foreplanned your birth.

When the angel appeared to Samson’s parents, his dad, Manoah, asked two very important questions:

“What is to be the child’s manner of life, and what is his mission?” (Judges 13:12)

It’s important that we all ask the same question about our lives:

  1. What is my mission?
  2. What is to be my manner of life?

God created you on purpose for a purpose. You have a mission. It is important to remember, however, that although you have a mission, your manner of life can make it or break it. Samson had some specific guidelines to live by, given to him by God. The same is true for us. Although the details and the specifics may be different, the general idea is the same: we exist for God’s glory. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are “God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which He prepared beforehand for us to walk in.” God has a specific, tricked out plan for your life…and following His plan is the best possible way for you to live your life!

So, make this your prayer:

“God, what is my mission and what is the manner of life you’ve called me to live in order to fulfill my mission?” If you’ll be faithful to ask, God will be faithful to answer and provide all you need as you live out your purpose!
