One of the clearest ways God displays His grace is by continuing on with us and promising His presence and provision despite what He knows about our future failures.

Let’s be honest. If you knew about how one of your friends would fail you in the future, you may give up on them now. That’s not how God works. Jesus knew Judas would betray Him, but He still kept him by His side, trained him, taught him, and even gave him the seat of honor at their final meal together.

In the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy, as Israel overlooks the Promised Land, God foretells their treachery and rebellion while still promising His presence and rescue. There are two inseparably-linked words that you have to catch.

Speaking to Israel God tells them, “when you ‘…return to the Lord your God…then the Lord your God will restore…’” (Deuteronomy 30:2-3)

God’s restoration is inseparably linked to our repentance and return to His gracious arms.

Sometimes we miss out on the miracle because we are waiting on God to do it, but unwilling to take the necessary step. God’s restoration is contingent on our return. He’s ready to restore the moment you return.

So…what are you waiting for? There’s no better time to do the right thing than right now!
