It’s Thanksgiving week! Let the feasting begin!
Here are a couple Thanksgiving fast facts for you:
46 million: the amount of turkeys that will be killed this year to provide food for our feasts across the nation.
4,500: The amount of calories that average American will consume at a traditional Thanksgiving Day feast.
100,000+: How many questions experts typically answer between November and December on Butterball’s Turkey Talk-Line (1-800-BUTTERBALL).
As you feast this week, here’s a verse to feast on:
“…the cheerful of heart has a continual feast.”
Proverbs 15:15 ESV
Being cheerful is a choice, and an attitude of gratitude changes everything. When you choose to be cheerful, you’ll always have a feast because you’ll always have something to be thankful for. I’m not advocating living in denial and I certainly never want to downplay pain. But despite the pain and challenges we face, we can choose cheerfulness. We can allow the joy of the Lord to be our strength, giving us something positive and eternal to focus on and encourage others with.
Don’t wait around for a feast on Thursday. Because of Jesus, you have joy to feast on today!
