Sometimes, like my phone battery, my prayers run out of power. Have you been there? I’ve found that if I’m not careful and intentional, my prayers can settle into simple blessings before meals and bedtime, void of faith and power.
Thankfully, David found a way of avoiding prayer burnout. It turns out that one of the things that matters most about prayer is what it is built on. Listen in as David prays…
“O my God, I have been bold enough to pray to you because you have revealed to your servant that you will build a house for him—a dynasty of kings!”
1 Chronicles 17:25 NLT
David prayed some giant, bold prayers in his day, and in this one sentence he lets us in on the secret behind his boldness: God’s promises! The boldness of David’s prayers stemmed from the faithfulness of David’s God. Bold prayers find their strength in God’s promises.
Since God’s promises empower our prayers, I thought I’d leave you with some prayer fuel. I hope these promises breathe some power back into your prayers. Personalize these Biblical promises and let them ignite your prayers so they’re filled with faith!
