…walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory.
1 Thessalonians 2:12
When Paul exhorted, encouraged, and charged the Thessalonians to walk worthy, he wasn’t talking about walking when they felt like it. He was referring to an ongoing lifestyle, even after they would inevitably fall.
The same is true for us. Throughout the New Testament, walking is clearly a big part of our relationship with Jesus…
WALK in the footsteps of the faith.
WALK in newness of life.
WALK not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
WALK in love.
Romans 14:15, Ephesians 5:2
WALK by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7
WALK by the Spirit.
WALK in the good works, which God prepared beforehand.
WALK as children of light.
WALK in Christ.
WALK in the light.
1 John 1:7
WALK in the same way in which Jesus walked.
1 John 2:6
WALK in the truth.
2 John 4, 3 John 3, 4
Whatever stage you’re in – spiritual child, mother, father, or just a friend of the family, God has not given up on you!
When Jesus calls you out of boat, keep stepping.
When you’ve been walking around Jericho and nothing seems to be happening, keep stepping.
When you get beat up for your faith, get up and keep stepping.
When you fall, brush yourself off and keep stepping!
