Unless it’s a quick turnaround trip, typically when I fly somewhere, I’ll check a bag. The problem with checking a bag, however, is that it leads to the fiasco known as the baggage claim. A spinning carousel of bags, often miscommunicated, with bags on the wrong carousel, late, or lost altogether. It’s a sea of mayhem.
We tend to live our lives lugging a lot of excess spiritual baggage around. Whether it’s guilt from sin you never confessed or never forgave yourself for, areas you can never seem to measure up in, or just something you can’t ever seem to move past, it weighs us down.
I have good news.
You don’t have to claim your spiritual baggage. Jesus will carry it for you.
Jesus invites us to come to Him and hand over our spiritual baggage (Matthew 11:28). Peter, one of Jesus’ closest friends said to “cast all your cares on [Jesus] for He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
Take some time to identify the baggage that’s weighing you down, then hand it over to Jesus. He’s got you!
