Evangelism. Just the word makes some people nervous. “Share my faith with other people? What if I don’t know what to say? What if I can’t answer their questions? What if… What if… What if…”

Let’s not overcomplicate this. Evangelism is simply speaking up about what God has done in your life. It’s being excited and telling others about it. You do that all the time when you talk about your favorite sports team, restaurant, or social media cause.

Let me give you a simple method that will help you share the complete story of the Gospel with anyone. It’s often called “The Romans Road.” Here’s how it breaks down…

Romans 3:23 – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

The first step in delivering good news is delivering the bad news. After all, forgiveness won’t matter to me if I don’t think I need it.

Romans 6:23A – For the wages of sin is death…

God isn’t fair, and that’s a good thing. Sin earns death. That’s the hard, simple truth.

Romans 6:23B – …but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

People think God is a prude killjoy, but He is actually a giver. God the Father gave His Son and God the Son gave His blood.

Romans 5:8 – but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

The cross is the ultimate demonstration of God’s love for us!

Romans 10:9 – if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

You can’t just listen to the truth; it requires a response. If we “believe it in our heart,” we need to “confess it with our mouth.”

Romans 10:17 – So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Hearing God’s Word led you to faith and will continue to build your faith. We should be consistently hearing God’s Word – through personal time with the Lord as well at a Bible-teaching church.

Don’t overcomplicate it. Sharing the Gospel is simply relaying the story of our problem, God’s solution, and our response.

We can’t stop sharing this good news because we’ve been given the responsibility!

We won’t stop sharing this good news because we are surrounded by opportunity!
